Chamundi Hills is the home of a Goddess called Chamundeshvari, who is of major importance in Mysore’s mythology.
She has been living there and displaying a yogic pose for centuries in an ornate temple. To see her one must climb a thousand steps and pay respects to an enormous black granite bull halfway up the hill. Definitely worth the climb as the view. For those not wanting to climb the stairs, we’ll whisk you up the winding road in auto rickshaw.
