Day 1 – Sunday – Arrival day
You will be met at Bengaluru Airport and transferred by private car to your accommodation in Mysuru.
During the three hour drive you will have your first introduction to the somewhat ordered chaos that are the roads of India. You’ll be amazed as you watch bikes, scooters, cars, trucks, buses and more weave their way along the road with seemingly no lanes and no road rules! The cacophony of constantly beeping horns as the locals communicate with each other means your road trip to Mysuru will be an experience to remember and you can expect to see many wonderful and interesting things along the way. Welcome to India!
Meet your Tour Director and group at 6pm for a welcome briefing and dinner
Day 2 – Monday – Orientation Day
Let the creative process begin! After breakfast meet your Auto driver for an interesting trip to the workshop that will be yours for the next 10 days. Meet your Artisan and discuss your project.
To get things off on the right foot we’ll get the safety brief out of the way today followed by lunch.
Your Auto driver will be on hand to take you back to your hotel where you have free time until 5.30pm. Then he’ll pick you up and off you go on a city tour – it is amazing what you can see from the back of an auto and there is no better way to get a feel for the Royal City that is Mysuru. There are 13 palaces, countless temples, parks and statues larger than life, it really is a beautiful city. All this combined with cows wandering the streets, people everywhere you look, more motorbikes and scooters than you can imagine weaving in and out amongst the cars, it is endlessly fascinating to watch the world go by as you cruise around the city.
Day 3 – Tuesday – Artisans at Work
Let’s get to it. Project time. You’ve taken this time out from your day to day life to give yourself time to work in a creative space. We’ll do everything we can to support that journey.
After breakfast meet your Auto driver and head to the workshop. This day will be more or less on repeat for the next ten days as you spend 3-4 hours each day working on your dream project, and learning from an artisan that is in some cases 6th generation working on the same craft and an expert at what they do.
After you finish your session, lunch will be provided nearby and your auto driver, who is by now your friend, will be waiting to whisk you back to your hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure or choose from an included activity
Day 4 – Wednesday – Artisans at Work
By now you are getting into a bit of a rhythm and some days may seem the same, but we promise you, in India every day holds a surprise!
This afternoon we’ll take you on walking tour around the old part of the city. We call it our Artisans Workshop Tour. This is a chance to get into the backstreets and visit workshops that you would be unlikely to uncover on your own.
Day 5 – Thursday – Artisans at Work
After breakfast we’ll pick you up and take you to your workshop where you creative process continues. The afternoon and evening are free for you to relax or get involved in something else with one of our activities.
Day 6 – Friday – Artisans at Work
Off to the workshop again after breakfast – by now you see your project really taking shape! You’ll have a free afternoon to relax.
This evening you will be picked up at 6pm to head off to a Traditional Dinner & Cultural Show. You’ll not only enjoy a delicious meal served traditional style on a banana leaf, you’ll be entertained by dancers and tabla players – we won’t give it all away here. This will be an evening to remember.
Day 7 – Saturday – Let us pamper you
Tomorrow is a busy day so today is a good day to catch your breath. You’ll be taken by auto to Indus Valley for a day of pampering to ensure you feel rested and relaxed.
Day 8 – Sunday – Temples & Palaces
After breakfast you’ll be taken by private vehicle 40kms (approximately 1.5 hours) to Somnathapura to visit the heritage listed Keshava Temple built in 1268 CE and still very well preserved. It is one of the finest and most complete examples of Hoysala architecture and is very well preserved. Marvel at the intricate stone carving and find yourself trying to imagine the scene over 700 years ago. A true wonder. Lunch will be provided before returning you to your hotel early afternoon.
Meet at 6pm and we’ll take you to the Palace for the weekly illumination. The Palace is lit with 97,000 incandescent light globes creating a dramatic sight against the backdrop of the dark night sky. This only happens on Sundays and National Days and we recommend you don’t miss it. It seems all of Mysuru are in the Palace grounds waiting and the collective audible sigh when the lights go on is a pleasure in itself. The lights stay on for 30 minutes. Directly after the illumination, you will be taken on a city tour by horse drawn tonga before we take you back to your hotel.
Day 9, 10, 11 and 12 – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday – Back to your projects
By now you’ve experienced a lot of what Mysore has to offer and we hope are feeling very much at home. The hotel staff know what you like for breakfast and how you take your coffee, and your Artisan is really coaching and guiding you toward your goal.
We’ve left all the afternoons and evenings free on these days as you have lots of included activities and we want to make sure you have time to fit them all in without feeling rushed.
Day 13 – Friday – Your masterpiece is complete!
It’s arrived. Your last day in the workshop and by now you have completed 30+ hours honing your skills in your chosen craft. You are already planning your next project to start when you get back home and you’re feeling great about all you’ve achieved.
Today you’ll finish up your work and pack it up to take home. Help will be available to arrange this. Your Artisan will present you with a certificate of attendance, and join you for lunch.
Your auto driver will take you back to your hotel and the rest of the day is at leisure. Choose your own adventure or do some last minute shopping for little gifts to take home.
Meet at 7pm for a celebration dinner.
Day 14 – Saturday – Farewell Mysore
Today we travel to Bangalore after lunch to board the overnight sleeper train to Hampi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was one of the richest and largest cities in the world during its prime. It is located within the ruins of the city of Vijayanagara, the former capital of the Vijayanagara Empire.
Day 15 – Sunday – Explore Hampi
Your guide will be with you today and tomorrow to help you see as much as you can of this magnificent UNESCO site. It is very large, and impossible to see it all in two days but we’ll cover as much as we can and try and cater for all of your specific interests.

We’ll see as much as we can traffic permitting and then take you to some interesting areas for a spot of shopping. Tonight your Bangalore host will take you to dinner for your last meal together. Time to say goodbye to your new friends and exchange contact details as no doubt you have made friends you’ll be in contact with for years to come!
